Right after our wedding reception, my husband and I collapsed onto the hotel bed, still half-dressed and completely exhausted. The day had been beautiful but overwhelming\u2014hugs, music, laughter, and endless photos. When the door finally closed, the silence felt like a gift, and we fell asleep almost instantly.<\/p>\n

In the middle of the night, I woke up because the bed was trembling. Confused, I looked over and saw my husband kneeling beside the bed, adjusting one of the legs. In our rush earlier, we hadn\u2019t noticed the frame was uneven, and every movement made it wobble.<\/p>\n

Half-asleep, he had decided to fix it right away so our first night wouldn\u2019t be squeaky. When he noticed me watching, he whispered, \u201cI didn\u2019t want our first night to be\u2026 squeaky.\u201d We both laughed.<\/p>\n
