When grief, guilt, and family expectations collide, it can be hard to put yourself first. Yet, even in pain, some choose peace. One reader shared her heartbreaking decision to go on a long-planned dream cruise\u2014just days after her 15-year-old stepson died in a car accident.<\/p>\n

She and her husband had saved for years. But amid grief, she chose to go, saying, \u201cYou can stay, but I won\u2019t give this up.\u201d He said nothing\u2014until he called during the cruise: \u201cYou\u2019re not coming back to this house ever again.\u201d He packed her things, left them on the lawn, and filed for divorce.<\/p>\n
