But even the sun has its spots, and the sitcom wasn\u2019t free of mistakes and behind-the-scenes quirks.<\/p>\n<p>Though billed as the perfect, wholesome American family, the show slipped up sometimes \u2014 for instance: in the 1963 episode The Poor Loser, the calendar hanging in the Cleaver home was clearly outdated (likely from 1961).<br \/>\nAlso in that episode, a close-up of baseball tickets reveals a tiny typo \u2014 \u201cMayfield\u201d is spelled correctly in large type but appears as \u201cMayfied\u201d in the small print.<\/p>\n<p>In another episode, The Silent Treatment, when Beaver paints a door and a bee appears \u2014 it was no real insect, but a fake one hanging on a string. If you look carefully, you can spot the string wobbling near his face.<\/p>\n<p>So yes \u2014 the show was wonderfully written and funny.
