Even though I mostly got A\u2019s, a few B\u2019s made him decide to <strong>pull my college fund<\/strong>. At first I felt oddly relieved \u2014 I\u2019d rather work for my own future than be under his control.<\/p>\n<p>So I did: I got jobs, applied for loans and grants, and paid my own way.
