I never imagined my wedding day would turn into a mystery thriller, but here we are.
Fifteen minutes before the ceremony, everything was perfect—until I tried on my shoes. They were three sizes too small. My heart raced as I realized someone had swapped them.
I asked my bridesmaids if anyone had moved my shoes, but no one knew. Then, I noticed Hailey, Ryan’s sister, sitting in the corner, watching me with a smirk. Something felt off.
I asked Katie to check the closet, but my real shoes were gone. Hailey seemed unfazed and even mocked me, suggesting I go barefoot. That’s when I knew it was her.
She admitted she didn’t think I belonged with Ryan, implying she wanted him to marry his ex. It hit me—this wasn’t just jealousy; she wanted to ruin our wedding.
I turned the tables. Hailey had the same shoe size, so I demanded hers. She reluctantly gave them to me, and I walked down the aisle in her shoes.
Ryan was confused, but the ceremony went smoothly. Hailey, barefoot and bitter, watched from the front row.
At the reception, I raised my glass, “To family, and to those who try to sabotage weddings… only to make them more memorable.” The room erupted in laughter.
