My best friend, Mia, offered to set me up with Eric, but I was skeptical since she’d never matched me before. She insisted he was great, and Chris, her boyfriend, vouched for him. After seeing a nice photo of Eric, I agreed to a casual dinner date. He showed up on time, attractive with roses and a thoughtful keychain as a gift. We had a pleasant evening with good conversation and shared interests. When the check came, Eric insisted on paying, and I appreciated the gesture.
The next morning, I was shocked to find an invoice from Eric, detailing charges for his “services,” like the flowers and holding the door. The invoice even included a “payment due” warning with a threat to send it to collections. I shared it with Mia, and Chris called, laughing at how crazy it was. Chris got revenge by creating his own invoice for Eric, listing hilarious charges like “introducing you to a gorgeous woman” and “convincing her you were a gentleman.” Eric’s angry responses were priceless, and I blocked him.
Mia apologized, but we both agreed this would be a story for years to come.
