I picked up my 3-year-old daughter from daycare one sunny afternoon. On the way home, we passed a small grocery store. She tugged my hand and asked, “Daddy, do we need a loaf of bread? Let’s buy one.”
Touched, I thought she just loved bread and wanted to help. We went inside, bought a warm loaf, and I imagined us eating it with butter at home.
But outside she smiled and said, “Great! Now we can feed the little birds in the park!”
My heart melted. She didn’t want the bread for herself — she wanted to share it with the birds she loved watching. In the park she laughed as they pecked at the crumbs.
That day she taught me something simple and beautiful: kindness means thinking of others, even the smallest creatures, and brightening the world with small acts. 🐦✨
