My Husband Left for the Maldives Three Days After I Had a Stroke—A Big Surprise Was Waiting for Him When He Returned

Three days before our anniversary trip to the Maldives, I suddenly collapsed while chopping bell peppers. A stroke left me unable to speak or move my left side. Jeff rushed to my side, but I couldn’t communicate. At the hospital, I learned I had a stroke, and my face was partially paralyzed.

In my second night at the hospital, I clung to the thought of our Maldives trip, a dream I’d saved for, hoping for recovery. But when Jeff called, he casually informed me he was going without me. The trip would be wasted, so he gave it to his brother.

Devastated, I turned to my niece, Ava. As I struggled through therapy, she investigated Jeff. When he returned from his vacation, I was ready. Using evidence Ava uncovered, I filed for divorce and secured my assets, leaving Jeff stunned when he returned home to find our locks changed and divorce papers waiting for him.

I never made it to the Maldives, but instead, I’m now in Greece with Ava, starting fresh. Revenge isn’t always fire; sometimes it’s freedom and the realization that the burden I’ve carried for 25 years wasn’t mine to bear.
