Fire in Pamplona Alta Sparks Emergency Response as Homes Are Destroyed

A fast-moving fire struck Pamplona Alta, rapidly spreading through tightly packed homes and destroying up to 300 houses. Thick smoke covered parts of Lima as firefighters struggled to access the area.

The blaze worsened due to flammable building materials and overcrowding. It may have been intensified by an illegal fireworks workshop, with explosions seen during the fire.

Hundreds of residents lost their homes and fled with little time to save belongings. While the fire was eventually contained, many families are now displaced, and authorities are investigating the exact cause.

The disaster highlights the dangers of unsafe housing and the urgent need for better safety measures in vulnerable communities.
