Reports about Iran’s deep underground “missile cities” describe fortified bases built to protect weapons and personnel from airstrikes. These facilities—linked to the United States Central Command assessments—are believed to house a large and diverse missile arsenal, including systems like Shahab-3 and Sejjil, capable of reaching up to about 2,000 km.
Recent focus has shifted to more advanced technologies, such as hypersonic weapons like Fattah-2 and cruise missiles like Soumar, designed to evade air defenses. In addition, drones like the Shahed-136 play a key role by overwhelming defense systems.
While these developments are significant, they are not a sudden revelation. Much of this program has been known and monitored for years. The main concern is regional security, not an immediate global threat.
