An active shooter incident occurred Thursday morning at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital near Detroit around 7:08 a.m., causing a major emergency response and lockdown.

Authorities say the suspect was a hospital employee who shot a 25-year-old coworker twice in the arm in the parking garage. The victim was quickly treated, stabilized, and is expected to recover.

The suspect was arrested without further incident, and the motive is still under investigation. The hospital temporarily shut down normal operations and is now reviewing security measures following the attack.
