Health officials are warning travelers after a confirmed measles case passed through O’Hare International Airport, potentially exposing many people in Terminal 1 on April 22–23.
Measles is highly contagious and can remain in the air for up to two hours after an infected person leaves. A second related case has raised concerns about wider spread.
Authorities urge travelers to:
* Check their MMR vaccine status
* Watch for symptoms like fever, cough, red eyes, and rash
* Stay home and contact a doctor before seeking care if symptoms appear
**Key point:** vaccination is the most effective protection.
