Wife: “Honey, don’t forget to buy bread on your way home… and say hi to your girlfriend Valerie.”
Husband: “Who is Valerie??”
Wife: “Nobody. I just wanted to make sure you’d read my message.”
Husband: “But… I’m actually with Valerie right now.”
Wife: “WHAT?! Where are you?”
Husband: “Near the bakery you love.”
Panicked, the wife rushed to the bakery, searching everywhere for him and “Valerie.” Finally, she texted again:
Wife: “I’m here! Where are you?!”
Husband: “I’m at work 😂 Since you’re already at the bakery, can you buy the bread?”
She stood there stunned, realizing he had completely turned the prank around on her. Trying not to laugh, she replied:
Wife: “You’ll regret this later… but fine, I’ll buy the bread.”
Husband: “Thanks, my love. And say hi to Valerie 😉”
By the time she got home, they were both laughing. What started as suspicion became one of their favorite stories to tell for years.
