Savannah Guthrie made an emotional off-camera visit to Today, thanking her coworkers for their support and for “caring about my mom as much as I do.” She has been off-air since her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie—who has a heart condition—was reportedly kidnapped in Tucson, Arizona, at the end of January. Authorities, including the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, have not released major leads.
During her visit, Guthrie told her team, “I’m still standing… I still have hope… I don’t know how to come back, but I don’t know how not to.” She confirmed she intends to return to the show, though she isn’t sure when.
Her colleagues described an emotional reunion, with team members praying together and expressing support. Dylan Dreyer led a prayer asking for a “miracle,” while others said Guthrie remained her usual self—strong, warm, and even joking despite the situation.
Co-anchors emphasized that she is deeply loved and welcomed back whenever she is ready.
