12 US States Face Hazardous Winter Storm Warnings, Weather Forecast Through Saturday

A major winter storm is sweeping across the U.S. after Christmas, causing travel chaos in at least 15 states. Heavy snow, ice, and freezing rain have triggered weather warnings across the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic.

New York and New Jersey declared emergencies as flights were canceled, roads became dangerous, and some areas lost power due to ice buildup. Officials also warned that an even stronger Arctic blast is coming, bringing extreme cold, blizzards, and below-zero wind chills.

Residents are being urged to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare for severe winter conditions into the New Year.
