Teresa’s sons rarely visited or called her, leaving her lonely for years. Eventually, she rented part of her home to a single mother, Grace, and her daughter, Katherine, who became the caring family Teresa no longer had.
When Teresa died, her sons expected a large inheritance. Instead, the will gave them just one dollar each, while everything else — the house and savings — went to Grace and Katherine. Teresa had even secretly saved all the rent money to help Katherine attend college.
