Last night, I walked into the garage, switched on the light, and noticed something strange on the wall. At first, it looked unfamiliar enough to make me stop. Its shape and bright colors stood out against the plain background, and my imagination briefly made it seem more alarming than it was.
As I got closer, I realized it wasn’t moving. It had a bright yellow body with black markings and spiky extensions, making it look almost decorative but unsettling at first glance.
Curiosity won, so I took a photo. Even then, I expected it to move, but it stayed completely still. I sent the image to a few friends and got all kinds of guesses.
After looking it up, I finally found the answer: it was a spiny orb-weaver spider, a harmless species known for its striking appearance.
