Jason and his friends were cycling along a quiet forest service path when he heard a weak, broken sound coming from the bushes. He stopped and found an emaciated black-and-white dog tied to a tree with a rope, injured and barely alive. The ground around her showed she had struggled for a long time to break free.
Jason and his friends quickly called for help. He stayed with the dog, using his jacket to make her more comfortable. She was too weak to respond much, but she was still trying to survive.
Then Jason realized she wasn’t alone. She kept looking toward a hidden spot in the brush. There, he discovered three tiny, trembling puppies tucked into a shallow hollow. The mother had been protecting them the entire time despite her injuries.
As Jason tried to help, he noticed a carefully placed bundle wrapped in faded blue cloth hidden near the puppies. The dog immediately became alert and protective when he reached for it.
Jason told the others not to touch anything. He understood this wasn’t just an animal rescue anymore, but something intentionally hidden—and the cloth might reveal who had done it.
