War Secretary Hegseth Warns Iran Has Missiles That Can Strike London

Pete Hegseth warned that Iran’s missiles could reach London, calling Tehran a global threat that should concern U.S. allies. He cited Iran firing two missiles at the joint UK-US base on Diego Garcia last month, around 4,000 km away, though both missed.

Hegseth said Iran had long claimed its missiles could only travel 2,000 km, adding: “Surprise. Yet again, Iran lied.” He argued that if Iran can reach Diego Garcia, it could also threaten London.

Meanwhile, tensions between Iran and the United States remain high despite fragile peace talks. Iran’s Supreme Leader reportedly rejected demands to move enriched uranium out of the country, while Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu continue pushing for tougher restrictions on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.
