A Humble Life of Service
Pope Francis, the first Latin American pope, lived a life of simplicity and compassion, always close to everyday people and those in need. Even in poor health, he greeted crowds without bulletproof glass. On Easter Sunday, he gave his final blessing from a balcony over St. Peter’s Square. He passed away the next day, April 21, 2025, at age 88 in Casa Santa Marta.
