Born as Freddie Mercury in 1946 in Zanzibar, he spent much of his childhood away from his family at a boarding school in India before moving to England after the Zanzibar Revolution.
In London, he studied art, embraced music, and formed the legendary band Queen with Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. With hits like Bohemian Rhapsody and Killer Queen, he became one of rock’s most iconic performers.
Despite personal struggles and his battle with AIDS, Mercury continued creating music until his death in 1991. His legacy lives on through his extraordinary voice, unforgettable stage presence, and timeless songs.
