A priest gave a nun a ride, and as she got in and crossed her legs, her gown shifted slightly, revealing a glimpse of her leg. The priest nearly lost control of the car but managed to steady himself. As he did, his hand slowly moved up her leg. The nun calmly said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?”
Startled, the priest quickly withdrew his hand. But as the drive continued, temptation overcame him, and his hand slipped up her leg again. “Father,” the nun repeated, “remember Psalm 129?”
Flustered, the priest apologized, “I’m sorry, Sister… the flesh is weak.” When they reached the convent, the nun got out quietly. Confused and curious, the priest rushed to his Bible back at the church to look up Psalm 129. It read: “Go forth and seek; further up, you will find glory.”
The moral of the story: Always know your scriptures—you might miss out on a blessing for not paying attention.
