A blonde woman and her husband were lying awake while the neighbor’s dog barked endlessly outside. After hours of tossing and turning, she flung back the covers. “That’s it. I’m going to do something about this!” She disappeared downstairs, leaving her husband hoping he might finally get some rest. A little later, she climbed back into bed with the unmistakable satisfaction of someone who had handled a difficult situation. There was just one problem: the barking hadn’t stopped.
Her husband listened for a moment, then turned toward her. “What did you do? That dog is still barking!” She smiled. “I put it in our backyard. Let’s see how they like it!” He had been waiting for silence; she had been arranging revenge. The dog, meanwhile, had simply changed addresses without changing its performance. As far as she was concerned, justice had been served. Sleep, unfortunately, was still out of the question.
