Legendary actor Dick Van Dyke, 99, and his wife Arlene Silver, 53, recently faced the Southern California wildfires. Despite the danger, they chose to stay at their Malibu home. During an Instagram Live, Arlene shared that while many homes were damaged, theirs remains safe for now. Their guest house did catch fire but suffered only minor damage.

The Pacific Palisades fire cut power to their area, but they’re using a gas generator. Arlene said despite the hardship, they won’t leave their beloved home. Van Dyke, no stranger to wildfires, feels most comfortable there.

Arlene has focused on keeping him warm and entertained, relying on a camper for cooking and charging devices. She admires his resilience, saying few seniors could endure this as he does.

Just before his 99th birthday, they evacuated their LA home due to the Franklin fire. Neighbors helped them to safety, and Van Dyke later reassured fans on Facebook that they and their pets were fine.
