I Was Always Invisible Until the Most Handsome Man at Work Noticed Me but the Truth Shattered My Heart

At first, being unnoticed hurts, but eventually, you accept it and even find benefits in it.

I sat at my desk, watching my colleagues swarm around our new coworker, Claire. Mark, the office’s charming and handsome guy, quickly singled her out. I couldn’t help but chuckle. Mark was irresistible, and it seemed like everyone was drawn to him.

Then my boss, Anthony, approached me about leading a new dating app project. He trusted me, even though I wasn’t the most visible person in the office. I had the best results, and he’d even offered me a chance to work abroad, but I declined.

Later, I overheard Mark complaining to Anthony about the project being given to me. Despite his objections, I stayed calm, unsure if he was just upset or if something had changed.

The next day, Mark started acting friendly, offering to grab lunch and later a drink, but I wasn’t fooled. I knew something was off. He seemed to be trying to charm me, but I saw through it.

After work, we got stuck in an elevator, and while waiting, we opened up to each other. I saw the real Mark—the vulnerable man hiding behind his confident act. We started spending more time together, and eventually, I kissed him. It felt right.

But then, I overheard a conversation between Mark and Anthony. Mark had been pretending all along to get close to me and take the project from me. I was devastated.

Determined not to let it affect me, I accepted the offer to work abroad. But as I was about to leave, Mark stopped me. He confessed that everything had changed for him, that he was genuinely falling for me.

Despite my anger, my heart made the decision for me. I walked toward him, and we kissed again, as Mark promised he’d never let me feel invisible again.
