Maria came from a poor background and faced constant struggles, but she worked tirelessly as a janitor to give her son Aiden a better life. She sent him to a good school and promised to support him through college.
Aiden excelled in science and, after shadowing a doctor, decided to pursue medicine. During this time, he met and fell in love with Linda, the daughter of a wealthy doctor. Maria warned him that her family might look down on him, but Aiden reassured her that Linda loved him for who he was.
After high school, Aiden and Linda went to college together. Maria approved of Linda after meeting her, and the couple later got engaged. However, Linda’s parents, Hugh and Elizabeth, initially refused to give their blessing due to Aiden’s humble background.
Eventually, they relented and paid for the lavish wedding. At the reception, they gifted the couple furniture for their future home. When it was Maria’s turn to speak, she revealed she had spent her life saving for Aiden’s education—but since he got a scholarship, the money went unused. As a surprise, she gifted them a house.
The guests were shocked. Hugh and Elizabeth, humbled, apologized for judging Maria. Aiden finished his doctorate, joined Hugh’s practice, and insisted Maria retire. She was celebrated with a party and a new car. Later, she joyfully helped raise her grandchildren alongside Hugh and Elizabeth.
