William felt guilty as his wife, Linda, looked at him anxiously. He knew she’d be devastated if she found out about his mistress.
They’d been married 20 years, had a 17-year-old daughter, and lived in Linda’s inherited home. Despite their efforts to run a beef jerky business, it failed, leaving William as the primary breadwinner.
Linda broke the silence: “What did you want to discuss?”
“I’m seeing someone else,” William admitted. “I love her.”
Linda was furious, but before she could react further, she received a call: their house was about to be seized due to an overdue loan William had failed to repay.
“Where’s the $80,000?” she demanded. “Are we going to end up on the streets?”
William, feeling guilty, made excuses. Linda, fed up, screamed for him to leave.
Six years later, William had left his family but struggled in his new life. After a failed relationship and job loss, he was now heading to a job interview.
He was hired at a beef jerky factory, where he discovered the CEO was his estranged daughter, Isabelle. She confronted him about abandoning the family and shared how she had to sacrifice her education to support her sick mother.
Isabelle eventually started her own beef jerky business, turning her parents’ old equipment into a successful venture. She even secured a deal with a major retailer.
After successfully negotiating with a wealthy businessman, Isabelle used the profits to buy back the family home and fund her mother’s surgery. When she learned her father was working at the same company, she fired him, handing him two boxes.
“Open them, Dad,” she said, ending their painful chapter.
