An elderly couple was flying to Hawaii

An elderly couple was flying to Hawaii for a two-week vacation to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Suddenly, the captain’s voice came over the loudspeaker, “Ladies and gentlemen, I have some very bad news. Our engines have failed, and we’ll need to make an emergency landing. Fortunately, I see an uncharted island below where we can try to land on the beach. However, it’s likely we won’t be rescued and might have to stay on this island permanently.”

Thanks to the flight crew’s expertise, the plane safely touched down on the island. Still shaken by the ordeal, the husband asked, “Did we already pay the credit card bill?”

The wife replied, “Oh no, I forgot to mail the payment.”

He then asked, “And what about the medical bill from last month’s hospital visit?”

She apologized, “I didn’t send that either, dear.”

The husband then pulled her into a tight embrace — their first in 50 years. When she pulled away and asked why, he smiled and said, “Because now they’ll have to come find us!”
