I’m 55 and my daughter is 25. She moved out at 18, and we stayed close—visiting monthly and talking often. For years our relationship was great, and my husband and she got along well. But over the past year, she suddenly began avoiding family events with excuses. Her visits stopped, our calls became shorter, and she seemed distant and uneasy.
