A woman with fresh facial scars from a traumatic accident was flying home and dreading attention. Asleep during boarding, she woke to a couple beside her loudly criticizing her scars and demanding she move or cover her face to avoid “scaring” them.
They complained to a flight attendant, but she remained calm and sought help from the cockpit. Over the intercom, the pilot firmly reminded everyone that harassment and discrimination wouldn’t be tolerated and ordered the couple removed, with refunds and a ban from future flights.
Passengers applauded, and afterward the pilot personally apologized to the woman and offered her a free drink. The experience restored her faith in humanity
