Leslie, a meticulous woman in her middle years, begins her day with familiar tasks—ironing shirts, organizing them by color, and checking off items on her trusty list. Since childhood, she’s used lists to bring order to her life, from schoolwork to chores to planning parties.
After ironing, Leslie moves to cleaning, making a game out of dusting and vacuuming, finding satisfaction in completing each task. Her favorite moment of the day is cooking, especially when she prepares lasagna for Peter, even though he rarely shows appreciation.
But when a surprise package arrives, Leslie is taken aback to find a beautiful necklace inside. She assumes it’s a gift from Peter, though it’s unlike anything he’s ever given her. She smiles, excited, but her joy is short-lived when she burns the lasagna. Peter arrives, angry about the burnt food and accusatory about the necklace, thinking Leslie has been unfaithful.
Devastated, Leslie is told to leave, but she packs with hope that Peter might forgive her. She later discovers the necklace was sent to her by mistake. Determined to explain, Leslie visits a mansion where Mr. Rodri, the real sender, explains the mix-up. During their conversation, he reveals his own loneliness, leading to a connection between them.
As they share a meal, Leslie feels comfortable for the first time in years. Despite her lingering feelings for Peter, she begins to realize her happiness might lie elsewhere. The next morning, Leslie and Mr. Rodri visit Peter, who apologizes and proposes they start fresh. However, Leslie, torn between the past and her newfound clarity, chooses to leave Peter and drive away with Mr. Rodri, ready for a new beginning.
