Mia set me up on a date with Eric, claiming he was a great guy, and her boyfriend Chris vouched for him. Eric seemed charming at first, showing up with flowers and a thoughtful gift. Dinner went well, with good conversation, and he even insisted on paying. But the next morning, I received an invoice from him, listing charges for things like flowers, conversation, and holding the door. He even included a note threatening to send an “outstanding balance” to collections.
I shared the invoice with Mia, and she was shocked. Chris, her boyfriend, couldn’t believe it either and decided to get back at Eric by creating a fake invoice of his own, listing charges for ridiculous things like “convincing her you were a gentleman.” Eric was furious and sent angry messages, but I blocked him without responding. Mia and I laughed it off, knowing this would be a story for years to come.
