My Husband Said the Perfume and Bouquet He Bought Were ‘Just a Work Thing’ — So I Set a Trap to Find Out the Truth

For months, little things about Daniel, my husband, had been bothering me—like how he acted suspiciously around his phone and started working late more often. The growing distance between us in bed was also hard to ignore. We’d been married 12 years, had two kids, and I thought we were a team, but things were changing.

I had considered divorce and even prepared papers but needed proof of his infidelity. That proof came when I saw a charge for perfume and flowers on our credit card. Initially, I thought he was trying to make up for the distance between us, but when I asked him about it, he lied, claiming it was for a work event. I then realized he was seeing someone, likely his secretary, Ophelia.

I decided to set a trap. I told Daniel I was taking the kids to my parents’ for the weekend, then secretly returned to our neighborhood to watch him meet Ophelia at our house. I documented everything, including the affair and Daniel’s unlocked phone with incriminating texts and photos.

The next morning, I confronted them with divorce papers and all the evidence. I made it clear that the house, which I had financed, was mine and that Daniel wouldn’t get a cent. I also froze his accounts and took back the car I gave him. Ophelia, realizing she’d been lied to about his wealth, stormed out. Daniel tried to beg her to stay, but I had already emailed his affair details to his HR department, ensuring his job was in jeopardy.

I watched as Daniel was left to face the consequences of his actions, and I was done.
