A fox appeared calmly in our yard wearing a collar with a small pouch attached. Inside was a note signed with my father’s name — the father who vanished 20 years ago when I was a child.
The note said it was urgent, so my husband and I followed the fox deep into the forest. There, hidden among the trees, we found a small cabin… and my father, alive.
He revealed he hadn’t abandoned me willingly. After my mother died, her wealthy relatives tried to take custody of me. Believing he couldn’t win, he disappeared to protect me while secretly watching over me for years from afar.
Inside the cabin, he showed me photos, letters, and memories proving he had never stopped loving me. But before we could fully reconnect, he became seriously ill and warned us that dangerous people were searching for documents he had hidden — evidence of everything his relatives had done.
Then we heard movement in the woods. The fox growled, my father looked terrified, and he whispered:
“They found us before I could.”
