A missing man in Turkey accidentally joined his own search party looking for himself

Life’s full of bizarre surprises—stories so strange they leave us laughing, confused, or questioning reality. From people mistaking mannequins for bodies to unknowingly calling the cops on themselves, the world never runs out of oddities.

One such tale comes from Turkey, where a man accidentally joined the search party looking for… himself.

According to Turkish outlet NTV, 50-year-old Beyhan Mutlu had been out drinking with friends in Bursa. He wandered off into a forest, prompting his worried wife and friends to report him missing. Authorities launched a search.

Unaware he was the subject, Mutlu stumbled upon the search group and decided to help. He spent hours with police and volunteers, even calling out his own name.

The confusion ended when someone shouted, “Beyhan Mutlu!” and he casually replied, “I’m here.” After a quick check, he reportedly told officers, “Don’t punish me too harshly, my father will kill me.”

Though no action was taken, police took him home safely. The story has since gone viral, becoming yet another reminder of life’s unpredictable—and often hilarious—twists.
