Nate Vance, Vice President JD Vance’s cousin, criticized both JD and President Trump for their treatment of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy during a heated February meeting at the White House. Nate, who volunteered with the Ukrainian military, expressed disappointment in his cousin’s behavior and Trump’s handling of the situation, stressing the importance of decorum in politics.
The meeting escalated quickly, with Trump criticizing Zelenskyy, and JD Vance questioning his gratitude for U.S. aid. Trump dismissed Zelenskyy, saying he wasn’t ready for peace and warned against “gambling with World War Three.”
Nate defended Zelenskyy’s choice of clothing, stating it was symbolic, and pointed out that no one criticized Elon Musk for similar attire. He described the encounter as “an ambush of absolute bad faith” and voiced frustration over how the issue was being handled. Despite the tension, Zelenskyy has since tried to repair relations with the U.S.
